Acacia mangium 100% plantation-grown Acacia mangium competes very well with established hardwood fibers. Good tear and tensile strength, very high opacity and good bleachability are just a few of its virtues. In addition, it has an exceptionally high fiber yield, making it highly cost-competitive. Our pulp is produced from thousands of hectares of this special robust tree. Located an average haulage distance of just 50 - 100 km from the mill.
The benefit of Acacia Mangium Why does PT TeL use 100% Acacia mangium trees to produce our high-quality, bleached-hardwood kraft pulp? There are a number of advantages. Acacia mangium monocrops sustain the commercial supply of tree products while reducing pressure on natural forest ecosystems. They also increase soil fertility and prevent soil erosion – that’s why they’re used extensively in forestation programs all over Southeast Asia. But what really matters to you is Acacia mangium’s papermaking qualities. During tests conducted by Econotech (an independent lab in Vancouver, Canada) it was found that Acacia mangium pulp is clean (dirt count lower than one ppm) and bright (89+ ISO). Acacia mangium also possesses high fiber density, which makes it suitable for the production of high-quality printing and writing paper grades. With superior papermaking qualities and environmentally friendly, Acacia mangium has already become the hardwood of choice for paper producers. At PT TeL, we’ve already experienced the benefits first-hand, and we pass them on to you.
