In order to facilitate distribution and ensure quality, PT TeL owns its on-site railway and port. Train Daily transportation to and from the mill to port is by way of 4 fully-owned locomotives and 100 specially-designed toplift system railcars that permit loading and unloading without the need for fork-truck handling. This guarantees less product handling and optimum delivery conditions of our pulp, in accordance with our main operation goals – to approach zero damage rates for our pulp deliveries. Port The Tarahan Forest Products Terminal, located in Lampung Province, is a natural deep-water port. The terminal has its own on-site rail system for the receiving railcars. It has been designed towards the specialized requirements of handling and shipping hardwood pulp. Our port provides clients with the best product handling and delivery of our pulp products. The port operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. It is located strategically in the middle of trading ship routes of most international carriers. Situated in a land area of 95,000 square meters, the port is a natural deep water draft of 14 meters at the berth which can accommodate vessels of up to a capacity of 52,000 deadweight tons. The wharf is 150 meters long and is built with concrete/iron construction and has two dolphins (63 meters length from both ends).
